National deputies from Unión por la Patria who are part of the Freedom of Expression Commission presented a resolution project today repudiating the Executive Branch's decision to revoke press accreditations at the Casa Rosada. This decision came after the denunciation of a supposed 'disinformation network' financed by Russia aimed at discrediting government members and public policies, and for spreading fake news. Titled 'Censorship Advances,' members of the main opposition bloc expressed an 'energetic repudiation' and requested 'the immediate revocation of the measure and free access' for journalists in the Government House. 'Faced with this onslaught on freedom of expression, deputies and congresswomen of Unión por la Patria who are part of the Freedom of Expression Commission, present a project repudiating a government that, not content with attacking journalists, now decides to silence voices in full democracy,' stated Sabrina Selva on her social media X. The deputy close to Sergio Massa emphasized that 'in a constitutional democracy, dissent, criticism, and the plurality of voices must not only be tolerated but actively guaranteed.' 'The existence of an independent, diverse journalism with effective access to official sources is a necessary condition to prevent the concentration of public discourse and to stop political power from becoming self-referential or propagandistic practices,' she concluded. The resolution project, accessed by the Noticias Argentinas agency, is signed by Selva, Nicolás Trotta, Germán Martínez, Raúl Hadad, Santiago Roberto, Hugo Yasky, Lorena Pokoik, Juan Marino, and Diego Giuliano.
